Choose What's Hard

Choose What’s Hard

To conclude this series exploring quotes that make up the foundational ethos of the mission, I want to highlight two, bringing the last two journal entries in this series into one.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. reminded us that we should have a dream—especially one where justice is not only retributive, or something that happens as we punish crimes, but also something that’s structural and relational.

And as I’ve noted here before, President Kennedy challenged us to go to the moon by the end of the decade because it was a venture that was hard, that would get the best effort out of ourselves.

I think it’s critical that we give a defining shape to the challenges we hope to take on and solve.

Liberatus was always meant to be a container for the creative effort it will take to make our country more just and free. It was an adventure, and I think it’s still only beginning.

Based on funding levels, this journal entry marks the end of weekly publishing for now. However, if you’d like to do so, you are welcome to donate monthly as I work in the coming weeks and months on compiling a paper outlining how we can collaborate, build trust, and build endurance. In case you haven’t already, sign up with your email on this page to be sure to find out when it’s done and ready for your review. You are also welcome to reply to a one-question interview describing the future you imagine, or make a donation to get your copy of Volume One.

Mission: Inspire American Unity

Liberatus is a political organization and publication exploring how we make our country more just and free for the next generation. We create inspiration for American unity in beautiful, well-researched and faith-rooted illustrated journals, written by professionals across the spectrum, to inspire lifestyles where we collaborate, build trust, and build endurance—because nothing changes if nothing changes.
