stRengthening the mission to inspire american unity
2022 End-of-Year to 2023 Campaign
Build endurance
Anything we hope to create as Americans as we self-govern the United States can be achieved when we play the long-game and build endurance. There are no quick solutions because collaboration takes time and trust.
As we write the next season of the story that we started in Volume One with a second illustrated journal, I’ve set a short-term goal of raising $3,000 to fund editing and publishing of a new email series and blog for new leaders on the Liberatus team and any leader to fuel your build endurance mindset and guide the mission to inspire American unity.
My biggest take-away from this past year of recovery from a head injury is that mindset matters, that we get to choose our mindset, and that the mindset we choose determines how well we lead and create. Volume One was a monumental journey of endurance, and now to build and strengthen the Liberatus team, I’ve written down 113 leadership mantras that guide me with short letters to other leaders on each one, about 250 words in length, based on my own leadership experience.
From organizing an overnight camping trip as president of my high school youth group to leading the intern program in a congressional office, from leading church community group to working with my colleagues in Congress to move bipartisan legislation through the House, and from transforming workplace culture for a team of ~60 active shoppers at Instacart to creating and funding Volume One with stakeholders across the entire political spectrum, I’ve committed to living my leadership values of empowerment, ownership, and clarity to create positive culture for others.
With this new email series, my hope is to help anyone build endurance so that we can strengthen our mindsets and the mission to create a culture of American unity for the next generation by producing content, experiences, and leaders that inspire it today. My long-term vision for Liberatus is not only inspiration for American unity, but helping others become leaders for American unity. Your support will make it possible.

Who we serve
Liberatus is first a creative outlet for professionals in American politics to write about healing or unity. After publishing the 122 digital journal entries in our archive, we now compile what they write into illustrated journals to offer inspiration for American unity so Americans across the country can read a copy, keep it on their coffee table, and share it with their friends. Finally, we give 20% of the funds contributed to receive each copy on our website to partner organizations creating a culture of American unity across the United States.
Chasing a big goal
To create a culture of American unity for the next generation, the Liberatus team is chasing the big goal of publishing two illustrated journals each year. Think of Liberatus as the grandchild of the Center for Action and Contemplation and the National Geographic Society, with endless possibilities for culture creation with a foundation of The Values of Freedom and Philosophy of Freedom in Political Engagement. To reach the goal, we estimate that it will take $200,000 a year for five consecutive years. What you contribute through the giving options below will help us build towards the larger goal as we create Volume Two! Reaching the goal means we can create inspiration for American unity to develop and strengthen leaders for American unity.
Volume One
Five and a half years in the making and written by professionals in American politics, Volume One gives you inspiration for American unity so that you can make the world around you a better place.

Volume Two
As we move towards the bigger goal of biannual publication with 20% of funds given for copies here on our website to partner organizations, first we will create Liberatus Volume Two with a printing and shipping goal of 2024, cutting Volume One's production time in half. To claim your copy now, make a pledge here. We will follow up regarding shipping when we print. As a crowdfunder of Volume Two, we’ll print your name in Volume Two and in all future illustrated journals as a Founder of Liberatus in Print!
Liberatus Advocates
Liberatus Advocates fund the mission with regular recurring monthly donations of $5 or more. You’ll also receive personal, behind the scenes updates and the invite to the Fifth Annual Liberatus Ultramarathon & Trailfest, the Liberatus version of an annual donor event. It’s a self-supported run or walk your own 55k, 20k, 10 mile, 10k, or 5k. It will take place in Northern Virginia on November 11, 2023.

Founders’ Circle
The Liberatus Founders’ Circle is a new community of donors making the relational leap from friends or fans of the organization to founders. This new community is open to donors who make five-year commitments to specifically fund team members to do the work.
The mission of a political organization thrives when there’s a community committed over the long term. I believe that with stable financial support we can achieve the goal of biannual publication and give significantly to the work of our partner organizations.
The mission of Liberatus will flourish when there’s a small community of fans who become founders.
Over the past several months, I’ve started exploring the idea of creating a Founders’ Circle. This new community of donors will fund team members over the next five years as we do the work to inspire American unity. It will be a core group who view the mission not as something good to give to, but as a shared vision and mission to create.
Founder-to-founder relationships can create solidarity and friendship unlike anything else. Among founders, the judgement playing field is leveled. Self-importance gives way to authentic creative expression. Depth and insight matter more than charisma. Founders treat each other with respect, and share vulnerability, because there’s an established, consistent, creative purpose that’s bigger than the friendship.
If we create a community of founders who bring a stable base of support over the next five years, you, me, and the Liberatus team will be able to offer through firsthand connections the artistic, well-researched, and faith-rooted inspiration our country needs to hold together and grow stronger.
We are not alone in this effort, and there will be other organizations we will collaborate with or fund as we create a culture of American unity for the next generation.
As you think about this invitation and the possibilities it holds, go out for a trail run, put on a record, have a glass of kombucha, or pray in nature.
If it’s right for you, sign up with a recurring donation here, or send me a message to talk more.
